Drone Manufacturing Setup Consulting

Setting up drone manufacturing in India is not primarily an engineering problem. Most people who approach it have the technical confidence and underestimate everything around it — the regulatory pathway, the documentation a certifying body expects, the supply chain, and the quality systems that have to exist before any of it can be signed off.

That gap is where we work, and it is the same gap we work in with colleges preparing for accreditation: the capability is usually there, the evidence and the systems are not.

What we do

  • Feasibility review — an honest assessment of what you are proposing, what it will take, and whether the timeline and resources you have are realistic. You can act on it with us, on your own, or with anyone else.
  • Regulatory pathway mapping — setting out, for your specific product and intended use, which approvals apply and in what order, so that nothing is discovered late.
  • Documentation practice — building the habit of recording design decisions, tests and changes as they happen, in the form a certifying body can verify, rather than reconstructing it under deadline.
  • Quality systems — the internal processes, records and review cycles that manufacturing approval assumes are already running.
  • Supply chain and localisation planning — mapping what you make, what you buy, and where each component comes from, with the sourcing questions answered before they are asked of you.
  • Team capability — training and structured development for the people who will run the systems, because systems fail wherever the staff do not own them.
  • Mock internal review — a rehearsal before it matters, including preparing the people who will be in the room.

The regulatory landscape, plainly

Unmanned aircraft in India are governed by the Drone Rules, 2021, administered by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Manufacturers deal with type certification of the aircraft, registration and unique identification, and the operating conditions attached to each category. Requirements change, and they change faster in this sector than in most.

Official requirements, procedures and formats should be obtained directly from the regulator’s own portal. We will not restate them for you as though they were settled, and you should be wary of any consultant who does.

What we are, and what we are not

Epigenesis Edu Private Limited is an independent private consultancy. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, empanelled with or acting on behalf of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, any certifying body, or any government department. We have no role in and no influence over any approval, and we do not offer, imply or accept any commitment regarding a certificate, a licence or an approval outcome.

We are not an aerospace design house and we do not design your aircraft for you. What we do is help your own people build the plan, the records and the internal systems to present the work accurately.

Who this is for

Companies entering drone manufacturing

Existing manufacturers adding a drone line, or a new venture starting from a design and a plan.

Institutions building a drone programme

Engineering colleges and technical institutions setting up a drone lab, an incubation unit or a student manufacturing initiative — where the same documentation and outcome discipline applies that we already bring to programme accreditation.

How we engage

We begin with a feasibility review rather than a free pitch, because a serious answer requires reading your actual plan. Engagements beyond that are priced by scope. Tell us what you need and we will quote against it plainly, with what is included set out in writing before anyone commits.

Who we are

Epigenesis Edu Private Limited has been registered since 2015 (CIN U80302RJ2015PTC048432), is MSME registered, and works across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. References are available on request.
