Institutional consulting · Bengaluru, working across South India
A management development programme wing is the one revenue line an institution has that does not depend on admissions. Most institutions want one and have nobody who has designed, priced and sold a programme to a corporate buyer. We set the department up, run the first programmes alongside your staff, and leave.
A fixed-fee set-up engagement with a beginning and an end
Two to three terms. We write the department’s charter and approvals path, build the programme catalogue and pricing, design the faculty and vendor model, build the corporate prospect list, and deliver the first three programmes with your team in the room — so that the department works after we have gone.
For directors, deans, principals and trustees. A first conversation is free; fees are fixed and quoted in writing.
Why institutions build one, and why most stall
Corporate training in India is bought by the day and priced by the day — published vendor rates run from roughly ₹25,000 to ₹1,25,000 per training day for virtual delivery, and higher in person. An institution with faculty, classrooms and a name already has most of the cost base; what it lacks is a product, a price list, a seller and a first client. Departments stall because they are launched as a committee rather than as a business: no owner, no catalogue, no corporate contact list, and a fee structure copied from degree programmes.
What we build
The department
- Charter, governance and reporting line within the institution
- Approvals path and naming that stays inside the AICTE and UGC rules
- Financial model: pricing, faculty payments, break-even by programme
- Job description and hiring for the MDP head
The programmes
- A catalogue of six to ten short programmes matched to the region’s employers
- Quantitative, finance and governance modules from our own teaching
- Faculty roster: internal, visiting and industry
- Delivery standards, materials and participant feedback
The market
- Corporate prospect list for the district and the state
- Outreach material and the pitch, written for an HR head
- The first three programmes sold and delivered with your team
- Handover: the calendar, the pipeline and the playbook
How the engagement runs
Term 1 — Design. Charter, financial model, catalogue, pricing, faculty model, hiring of the MDP head. Presented to the governing body.
Term 2 — Launch. Prospect list built, outreach begun, first two programmes delivered on campus or at the client’s premises, with your faculty co-teaching.
Term 3 — Handover. Third programme run by your team with us observing. Pipeline, calendar and playbook handed over. We step back.
Who does the work
The director of Epigenesis Edu Private Limited, an IIM alumnus who teaches quantitative aptitude, financial modelling and capital-markets courses and has designed faculty development and accreditation-readiness programmes for colleges. The MDP modules we seed the catalogue with are ones we deliver ourselves.

Epigenesis Edu Private Limited advises institutions on setting up management development programme departments. It does not itself award diplomas or degrees, is not a university, and does not represent that any programme is recognised or approved by AICTE, UGC or any other authority unless that approval exists. Training-day rate ranges quoted are from published vendor price guides, not a survey.
